CALL FOR PAPERS - ICT97 International Conference on Telecommunications 2 - 4 April 1997 "Bridging East & West Through Communications" Melbourne, Australia Short Courses - 5 April 1997 International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT) is an IEEE/IEE sponsored conference addressing topics in the broad area of telecommunications. ICT has a balanced east-west character, reflecting its theme of 'Bridging East and West through Telecommunications'. Building on the initial success of Dubai in 1994 and Bali in 1995, ICT96 in Instanbul attracted some 200 papers from 32 countries and some 300 participants. ICT97 is to be held in Melbourne, Australia, in the week following Easter, from April 2-4, with short courses on April 5. The conference will have five parallel sessions, plus poster sessions, and all papers are published in the conference proceedings. The conference will be held at the magnificent Sheraton Towers, in the Southgate complex, located in the midst of Melbourne's multimedia, arts & entertainment precinct. You are invited to submit original papers addressing topics in the broad area of telecommunications for presentation at the conference and for publication in the conference proceedings. It is renowned for its international arts, entertainment and sports events and for its multicultural cuisine. Easter in Melbourne can be delightful - balmy days and Autumn colours. - Bill Lavery, Conference Chairman Paper Submissions: Authors are invited to submit three (3) copies of a 1000 word extended abstract (or a full paper) for oral or poster presentation. Papers, maximum of 6 pages long, should be printed on ISO A4 white papers, written in English in two-column format in Times or very similar font style, 10 points with 2.5 cm margins on all four sides. All presenting authors must register as delegates. All papers will be acknowledged by electronic or postal mail. Papers will be reviewed by senior researchers in the field. Each submission must be accompanied by a letter that includes the following information: full title of the paper, technical area, author(s) details (name, postal and email addresses, telephone and fax numbers). Short Courses: Proposals outlining the subject area and including the c.v. of the organiser(s) of the proposed short course should be submitted to the conference secretariat by 1 October 1996.
